Cookie Policy
PassTheory.be is an independent, non-commercial educational site about the Belgian driving theory exam. This page explains, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the rules enforced by the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), exactly which cookies this site uses.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It can be used to remember information about your visit, like your language preference.
Cookies used on this site
This site only sets two strictly necessary cookies, which do not require your consent under the ePrivacy rules because they are essential to how the site works. No analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies are used — this site does not run Google Analytics or any similar service.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| pt_cookie_notice | Remembers that you've seen and dismissed this cookie notice. | 12 months |
| pt_lang | Remembers your chosen language (English, Nederlands, French, Türkçe, Pashto, Dari or Arabic). | 12 months |
Managing or deleting cookies
You can delete or block these cookies at any time through your browser's settings. Since both cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will simply mean the site asks for your language again and shows this notice again on your next visit.
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand roughly how many people use this site, the server keeps a simple count of page views — separately from the cookies above, and without setting any cookie of its own. Each visit is identified only by a one-way cryptographic hash combining your IP address, browser type, and the current date; this hash changes every day, so it cannot be used to recognise the same visitor across different days, and your actual IP address is never stored. This data stays on this site's own server, is never shared with any third party, and is not used for advertising.
Your rights and the supervisory authority
Because this site does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies, it does not build a profile of you or share data with third parties. If you have questions about privacy on this site, or wish to file a complaint, you can contact the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit) at www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be / www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
